Several years ago I discovered the work of Dr. Shefali and that was the start of my conscious parenting journey. It absolutely blew my mind! I was so convinced of the efficacy of this new life changing way to parent, that in 2022 I joined her Coaching Institute to become certified as a Conscious Parenting Coach. I am now one of 1500 coaches worldwide trained by Dr. Shefali to help parents navigate all the ups and downs of parenting using this transformational approach.
Dr. Shefali is a world-renowned clinical psychologist, international speaker and author who originally coined the term ‘conscious parenting’ and started a global parenting movement through the publication of her first New York Times bestselling book “The Conscious Parent”. Other highly acclaimed parenting books have followed which blend eastern philosophies with western psychology to help support parents ready to make big changes in how they raise the next generation.
As your personal coach I can help you explore this revolutionary approach for yourself, apply its principles and guide you through the changes necessary to transform the relationship with your child.

MY sTORY
My name is Gillian and I live in Galway on the west coast of Ireland with my husband and our teenage son.
When our son was a young, busy and vibrant little boy, I found myself regularly becoming reactive and overwhelmed, instead of being the emotionally regulated parent he needed me to be. I took a lot of his behaviours so personally and I was becoming so frustrated with a seeming lack of power to change the dynamic that I knew I was creating.
I was on a mission to find another way to parent. Thankfully, I found Dr. Shefali’s work in 2017 and I immediately started to get a better understanding of why I was feeling the way I was. I realised I was parenting on most days from a place of absolute fear and panic which was a major turning point for me. I completed several conscious parenting courses, sought support for myself and in 2022 completed my coaching certification. The inner work that I have done and continue to do on myself, as well as the skills and strategies that I have learned through conscious parenting have fundamentally transformed my relationship with my son, my husband and most importantly, with myself. I now know wholeheartedly that I am a SUPER mom doing my best and that I have it all within me to face any challenges that come along.

CO-REGULATION.It is having strong life enhancing boundaries and limits with our children for their safety and wellbeing.
WE TEACH LIFE SKILLS.It is about recognizing and owning our triggers. Our children are not intentionally triggering us. Their behaviour triggers what is already inside!
SELF AWARENESS.It is understanding the importance of and committing to our own inner work & personal growth.
SELF ACCEPTANCE & SELF COMPASSION.It is about prioritising our own health and wellbeing through daily self/soul care practices as much as we can to ensure we are meeting our own essential human needs.
